| Great Big Sea performed at the World Trade Center as a headlining act in the Celtic Nights series of CenterStage outdoor summer concerts, held in the plaza between the twin towers. It was a hot breezy night filled with music, laughter, and much dancing. The stage was set up in front of the east side of the 120-story North Tower, which is clearly visible behind the band in these photos, with the South Tower was to the audience's left. Seven weeks later, on September 11, 2001, the entire area lay in rubble after the terrorist attack which destroyed both towers and several adjacent buildings.
